Are cathodes considered tacky? or can they look OK provided they're done right? Thinking of getting some for my CM-690II but wasn't sure if it would look too much, or what size or colour to get.

At the age of 25 am I too old to be wanting bright lights inside my case?

I went for a couple of white LED strips as I didn't want anything overly bright, just a subtle glow.

Am happy with the results but may remove one if it doesn't look uneven.

led strips are the way to go as they give a brighter glow than a cathode.

I suppose it depends on what you're after. I don't want something OTT, just something to make the inside of my case more visually appealing. Cathodes should arrive in the post tomorrow so I'll see what they look like and decide then whether I'd be better with LED strips.

LEDs give a more deeper and brighter colour. Also require minimal power. Cathodes give a subtle glow and require a bit more power.

I have UV cathodes for my case.

+1 for LEDs - stronger colour than the CCFL's and they don't tend to wash out with prolonged use either

I've got two LED strips (top and bottom) in my HAF and they flood the case with a nice glow - yet it still manages to be subtle at the same time :)
(as subtle as a red-lit HAF can be lol)
