Cathodes..

I used to have UV ones, and then green ones in different cases, and they look pretty damn good if done properly and you have the case for it

However, the only issue I'd have with using them today is they come with a lot of mess. An inverter and extra cables, plus a molex/4pin needed to power them. With how good I've got my 650D looking in terms of hiding cables now, I wouldn't want to ruin that despite being tempted just for a nice glow. To compromise I settled for Betfenix Red LED fans, not as bright but does a similar job

Yeah I was reading about the rocker switches and inverters and god knows what else. I would quite like some proper red cathodes so when I have my WC loop done the blood red dye would look quite lit up :p I kind of wish I had gone with a different motherboard... if only the Asus Gene wasn't mATX a red and black build would look really nice but oh well :D

All I've read about cathodes is that any red ones are either hot pink or orangy red... :/ I might wait till I have my loop made and get a white one to see the effect it has maybe.

Don't go for the cheaper ones, the red arn't that good.

I have owned both purple, white and blue, the blue and white went very well with my blue and white themed case, the only downside to these are the wires.

Have to agree. Ive just ditched my cathodes for LEDs. Much better.
Brighter, less mess, will last longer, less prone to breaking from knocks when tinkering.
And theyre flexible!

I just got hold of 600mm of smd 12v LED strip with 60 LED's for under a tenner, they can also be cut at every 3rd LED so potential for 20 different lighting positions:eek:
