Caught speeding?

There was a police van facing me on my side of the road as i was coming home from work unluckily i was doing 25-30mph in a 20. How can u tell if they are the mobile vans and can they record your speed while their vechile is facing you

Did it have a camera filming out the back of the van?

If it's speed then the back window would have had either no glass, or an open flap in the glass as speed cameras aren't type approved for filming through glass.

If the rear windows were just normal glass then it was most likely either ANPR or just parked up for some other purposes. Is there a nearby kebab house or chippy?
