As I have an AM2+ set up (with Phenom 9600) I've been keeping a close eye on Phenom 2 940, whick looks like a nice upgrade.
I've never overclocked before and wondered how good a candidate my mobo is - it's a Gigabyte GA M790 DQ6, with 8Gb ram at 5-5-5-18 timimgs etc (have got 4Gb Geil ULL which runs 4-4-4-12 but I prefer to run Photoshop (CS4) and Vista X64 with more memory - it seems faster, shame 16 Gb isn't cheaper
I'm not looking to get every last GHZ out of it or to water cool it, if it's stable on air somewhere near 4Ghz then I'll be very happy indeed.
Any thoughts on what I can realistically expect from this Mobo & the 940 Phenom would be appreciated.
