Good morning all,

Im looking at changing the oil on my 2015 Honda cbr650f and am confused on the type of oil to get. I know that it needs to be 10w30 but don’t know if it’s supposed to be semi or fully synthetic? I’ve read various posts on the internet where people use both but I want to make sure I use what the manufacturer intended.
Thanks

That age of bike will be happy with semi or full I'd have thought.
My old 98 cbr1100 I'd only use semi as full could mess with the clutch according to many owners but that was a dinosaur bike in comparison.

I’ve never had a fully synthetic affecting a clutch, but it can happen.

as per the above you can use any 10W30 oil with API SG or higher (API SH, SJ etc). The API rating is important as these are for motorcycles with special preservatives to protect the clutch which is immersed in this oil.

DO NOT use car oil, or non API SG+ or you will wreck your clutch plates in a matter of minutes.
