Completed my CBT yesterday, insured the DT125 and went out for a spin! Well what can i say! :D Awesome. First time ove ever owned a bike and it was the first time id ridden one yesterday! Completed 100 miles to about £7's worth of fuel as well lol :) Had some chav pull right out in front of me but no bother. Just got to be more alert. Gonna do my test after a few months and move onto something bigger. Wish id done it sooner now.

yep, get test done, you wont regret it, it teaches you a lot more safety riding techniques as well, (providing you get a good instructer) he will teach you to ride safe, not just to pass the test. Try to ride out with experienced riders also (ones who arent ****'s) I learnt a lot from my dad and uncle.

Expect everyone on the road to be a complete ****, if you are always prepared for people to do the stupidest things, you should be safe.
I know the feeling well mate, and everytime you upgrade the bike to something bigger, the smile will grow and grow.

I have had a permonent smile on my face for the last two weeks since picking up the beast the other sunday, before that I had a 400, before that an RS125 so I went up in nice intervals and it just gets more and more fun.

Another one who has got the bug :) I'd try and get your test sorted sooner rather than later because you can pick up some bad habits which are hard to shake off in training, I know I had some :)

annother good point, get it done mate, I had plenty of bad habits, rod my (restricted officer) RS125 round for 6 months before hand, kept getting shouted at for going to fast and being on the "racing line" on my 2 day course, passed with one minor though. That was over 2 years ago now.
Its great passing early though, some of the looks I get and the "how old are you?" comments are great when I take my lid off sitting on a nearly new R6
