Finally got my CBT done today having had it cancelled last week due to the weather. Though waking up this morning at 4am with the snow falling off the roof of the house made me wonder if I was actually going to do it today.

Fortunately the bike school is right next to the coast and the snow I had at home was just rain in town just 10 miles away (I had to knock 4 inches of snow off the car)

When I initially got on the bike I was a bit shakey but after a while I got the hang of it and the rest of the day flew by. At the end I didn't want to get off and drive home in the car! Can't wait to pick up the bike on Monday though I expect it will sit outside while the crap weather passes :(

Congrats, your first step towards getting a bigger bike :)

I need to re-do my CBT.. then go down the DAS route.

Famous last words but going to stick with the CBF125 for at least a year and then do the DAS, throw the L plates off and then carry on using it!

Well done! i want to do my CBT at somepoint

sorry to butt in the thread, where abouts in shropshrie are you from Taken?

Nice one mate. Enjoy the freedom and make the most of the fuel consumption before the desire for a bigger bike becomes too much ;)

Awesome, a summer of biking fun awaits you, was my first year last year on a 600 (DAS all the way!) and every dry day you'll want to be out on it.

Take care and ride safe, these cage drivers dont look sometimes...

:D

A mate got me a CBT for Christmas (awseome present!) so I'm looking to combine it with a DAS course and take 5 days off work to do the whole thing. Think I'll wait for the weather to get a bit better though... I know you're not meant to be a fair weather rider, but I think learning in the summer will be miles more fun.

April is a good time to do it, warm enough (10C+) for the weather not to be a problem and leaves you with a month to grab a bike in time for some proper summer rides

Picked bike up on Monday, didn't commute to work yesterday on it as it was a little cold and icy but took the chance today and I must say, it great! Yes it was cold and no is wasn't raining but it felt so much more exciting than driving the car.
