CCC doesn't work on XP?

XP 32, tried reinstalling 8.12 twice and used driver cleaner (XP install was fresh as of a few days ago) but it won't launch.

It says that the basic view isn't compatible with my card (4870 1GB) but when it gives me the option to go advanced the window closes after I click it and nothing happens.

This is my first ATi card since the 9600 so if I'm missing something obvious do tell, CCC worked fine on Vista 64 though.

Works fine in XP here, SP3, .NET 3.0.

Did you install the .NET's one after the other including their service packs (as i think you have to).

Nah, it prompted me to install .NET 2.0 during the installation so I'll try getting 3.0 installed see if that makes any difference!

are you using the vista drivers or something?

No.

Damn, this is worrying. I'm going to be buying the same card in January, don't want to switch to Vista just because of this.

That could be why its not working if you just put .NET 2 straight on, as im sure .NET doesn't work like that, and you can't just install the latest version (or the one you need), you have to start from .NET 1 and go up incrementally.

Will try this in a bit then, I figured .NET would be ruled out because ATi installed it automatically, will definitely give it a shot though.

Also I get this box when trying to start CCC, after clicking "advanced" it just does nothing though;
