CCC-Is it necessary?

Just a quick question to all-Is ccc just a system hog? As an owner of a new 7970 i was having problems with AB/ccc so I uninstalled ccc and now everything runs so much smoother! Now I am not saying this is a proven cause of the problems i was having BUT its worked for me.The only thing I fear is that I am missing some kind of graphical optimization.I turn all settings up in-game anyways and left the ccc settings at default so I`m pretty sure its not easily spotted if at all.I thought if anyone knew you guys will

Oh,and does anyone use AMD`s tesselation instead of the game settings?

Unless your CPU is powered by coal I doubt CCC is a system hog. I have always left the settings default (except triple buffer and sometime silly amounts of AA to play old games)

System hog was a bad choice of words although it does run 24/7 when it clearly dosnt need to.I have a 2600k by the way

I find it useful for making and changing different colour profiles, and use it frequently for AA on games like TF2

turn it off in the startup cfg, i do

I usually set AA etc from the game, I have it installed but never look at it really! Also removed from startup.
