I've been planning on playing through some older games and wanted to use supersampling. But I had a look in the CCC and the option isn't there. I'm using a HD5850.

I tried doing a clean reinstall and installed radeonpro (which said it was activating inactive parts of the driver). But I still cannot find a way to show the anti-aliasing mode bar. In Radeonpro the only options are Multi-sampling, Adaptive (Performance) and Adaptive (Quality).

Windows 7 x64
Using the 11.3 catalysts.

Only thing I can think of is maybe due to my 5850 being from launch that the drivers don't like its bios or something. It is described as 5800 series by the CCC.

Try googling omega drivers. They have been about for years. The owner of the website adds registry tweaks etc which opens the options previously hidden by the driver writers. They are normally about 1/2 releases behind the official releases, but if that doesn't bother you then you should get the options you are looking for.

I would do a clean install of the drivers! Uninstall in add/remove programs, reboot go into safe made and use driver sweeper or driver cleaner pro in safe mode to remove the remainder of the files. Boot to Windows normally and re-install Catalyst Drivers.

Don't exist. Checked his page the ati win 7 64bit download page is empty. I used to use them years ago, he's never done a vista + release or any other release in a very long time

Can you post a picture of your CCC 3D settings tab please.

Also have you tried the CCC without Radeon Pro? As that may cause you a problem if both are installed (may...)

I installed radeonpro in the hopes it would fix the problem. The options have always been missing.

Yes.

" The Anti-Aliasing Mode section contains a slider with the oversimplified designator Performance on the left and Quality on the right. Below the slider lies more important information about the three possible settings: Multi-Sample AA, Adaptive Multi-Sample AA, and Super-Sample AA.

The standard Multi-Sample AA setting is self-explanatory. The second setting, Adaptive Multi-Sample AA, enables AMD’s transparent texture anti-aliasing method. Finally, the Super-sample AA setting applies full supersampling anti-aliasing on the entire scene. "

Don't install or do anything, Catalyst 11.4 will be out tomorrow and Preview drivers sort the CCC layout already. If you want to have forced SS, choose Adaptive AA and Quality setting.
