Just built my first gaming PC - Gigabyte Z68 and MSI 6950 2gb Twin Frozr. Operating system installed and updated. Just added MSI card and drivers, but keep message saying CCC is not supported by driver version, please update your graphics driver or enable your ATI adapter. Have uninstalled/reinstalled drivers, different versions but still get same message. Is there something else I'm not doing? Went on MSI site which automatically recommends which driver.

Im reading a couple of things about it online, one reccomendation say' The Catalyst Control Center needs the Microsoft .NET Framework to be installed' for it to work... and another is asking 'Have you installed all the full driver for your graphic card, which include the Catalyst Control Center on it?'

My 2 cent.

I didnt have the monitor connected to the graphics card but to the on board graphics. That's solved the original problem. However there is now a black surround around the screen (Viewsonic 1920x1080). I cant seem to find a setting in CCC that matches this. Is there one?

lol easy mistake to make I guess!

Look for an option called GPU scaling in the CCC. You can use the slider to adjust your picture so it fits your monitor properly.

First gaming build so learning quickly!

Found Image scaling setting in CCC. Put tick in box to enable GPU scaling but the following are greyed out - Maintain aspect ratio, Scale image to full panel size, Use centred image. Does this matter and should I tick Enale GPU scaling?

Found Scaling option and can use slider to adjust picture to fir screen, but not get it to fit 100%. Is that normal? Should I leaver the box unticked for Use the scaling values instead of the customized settings.......

Try pressing the equivalent of the "Auto" button on your monitor, that should adjust it in some way.

How have you connected it to said monitor, are you by chance using HDMI? Try using DVI instead.
