How do I get my CCC profile to run on startup?

It doesn't at the moment, I have to manually start it and I can't find an option to click. Placing the shortcut in the startup folder hasn't worked.

I'm using it to run my memory clock at constant full speed otherwise I get all sorts of graphical anomalies on the desktop and random crashes when it runs 2D clocks.

This gen of AMD cards are actually ***** aren't they...

Can I set my idle clocks higher in afterburner? I can't figure out how to do it.

I have a Sapphire 7950 OC and I get the same graphical issues and random crashes on 2D clocks too. Everything was perfect until I swapped out my Sapphire 6950 for the 7950 and that's when the problems started. I can run any game on more-or-less max settings for hours on end and it never has a problem. It only has issues when I'm running in 2D.

I would love to RMA it but I am concerned that OcUK will be unable to reproduce the issues and I will end up getting it back. So I will end up paying for p&p both ways and still have nothing to show for it.

How do I get my CCC profile to run on startup?
I just create a preset in CCC and edit the resulting xml file in Notepad to set the required clocks/voltage. Then I click on it (in the list of CCC presets) and I can see the settings (from the preset) displayed in the Overdrive area of the CCC. It uses the preset automatically at startup after that.

Actually you're probably right. OcUK chinned a return I made on a GTX480 that had duff memory. They couldn't reproduce the error, makes me think they didn't try very hard, and charged me a return fee on top of my postage in (~£20 all in). Funnily enough Gigabyte had it sorted very quickly themselves. Couple of months later I got a shabby Fractal Design Define XL case (£110) and OcUK staff suggested I return it (presumably at my own expense, 15KG box from Northern Ireland lol). Lesson learned, I won't be buying anything from here over £100

Maybe try and arrange with Sapphire, no idea what their RMA procedure is like though

I think this is an inherint problem that AMD need to sort with the 7xxx cards i have a 7970 and its to do with the change from 2d to 3d clocks you can max the memory like you say in a profile but i think AMD need to fix this fast.

Install afterburner go in settings/advanced an tick " allow constant volt" that will sort any problems you with stability, im running CCC 12.8 Oc'd aswell.

I installed afterburner last night and ticked that constant volt setting. It's too early to tell whether it has fixed the problem yet. We'll see. Fingers crossed.

Exactly the same here. Games run perfectly for hours of play and all benchmarks run absolutely fine.

It's like AMD released a good card with a power saving feature that essentially breaks it. Maybe a bios update would cure it?

I've done all that in CCC, adjusted all the settings, saved it etc. but my profile doesn't load automatically on startup and I have to click on the preset in the start menu. I'm also using MSI AB to adjust the core voltage.

Have you had to adjust your idle clocks at all?

Before i used to get graphical problems using any thing above CCC 12.3 when Oc no matter how small the clock was.
I used to get problems also with my web browser flickering theres various threads on here with others having the same problem.

Now i have no problems at all with a rather nice little Oc, running CCC 12.8 and after burner.
In after burner do as i said in a earlier post, that will sort the problem with the volt changing when going in to idle mode.
In your web browser go in options/advanced an turn off "hard ware acceleration" that will solve any problems with any browser problems.

Ive just checked my options in my browser an mine is enabled, has been since Saturday (new build) so im assuming that the allow constant volt in MSI after burner has sorted that problem,4-5 days an no problems.
The volt on my Sapphire 7850 is still set to stock been playing bf3,ds2,sleeping dogs for hours on end with no problems at all.

Hope that helps :D

I tried all those things separately and together and they didn't stop the flickering at the bottom of the browser. The only thing that did help was changing my 2D idle memory clock to the same as my 3D clock (1400) from 300.

I've still been getting the occasional problem when watching youtube videos, the screen will suddenly get a mess of horizontal green and red lines and can only sort it by resetting. I forgot to tick the force constant voltage option so hopefully that will cure it.

I still don't understand why AMD would try and sell a product on the back of it being low voltage and power saving when it simply doesn't work.

Did they not test these products before they released them?

Starting to wish I went over to the green team.

I've been with AMD since my 6600gt

Yeah i know what you mean, they probably already knew of the problem when the first card was released.
At a guess there just trying to get there products out to compete with the green team then worry about there drivers after.

Can you give a bit more detail on what your doing when it crashes.
I can be browsing in Internet Explorer (or Chrome), watching a YouTube video or just sitting on the desktop.
First, I get horizontal red lines, followed a few seconds later by a black screen and then the system either reboots itself OR I wait for 5-6 minutes and the screen comes back and everything looks okay. That's when I check the Windows Event Log and see that it has logged a 4101 display error - Display driver stopped responding.

Find the option for "hardware acceleration" an disable in IE/Chrome see if that makes any difference, it worked for me.
Im using Firefox if that makes any difference.

I disabled the hardware acceleration 2 weeks ago but it made no difference.
I'm hoping that the AfterBurner Constant Voltage setting will prove to be more effective but it's too early to tell because I only installed it last night.

I do appreciate all of the advice though. Thanks.

[UPDATE]
Correction. I disabled hardware acceleration in Flash (not IE) two weeks ago. I have now disabled it in IE as well.

I would set cpu to stock, remove afterburner, set gpu at stock and if problem is still there rma your card. If it is fine reinstall afterburner and oc if all is well then apply oc to cpu if it comes back then you know where you problem lies, process of elimination.

My GPU is running at stock. Always has been. It's a Sapphire 7950 OC. A factory overclock. It has had these problems since Day One. I had not messed about with the CCC profiles. I had not installed Afterburner (until the other night). I had not tweaked anything in Sapphire Trixx. Initially it was running with the 12.4 drivers then I tried 12.3 then I tried 12.6. Now I am on 12.8. I always uninstalled the old drivers and then used Driver Sweeper. I have uninstalled/reinstalled more times than I care to remember.

Like I mentioned before, I can push the GPU with the likes of Crysis 2, Skyrim, Diablo3, BF3 and it will handle them all no problem for hours at a time. Not a single lock-up or crash. Then I browse a couple of web sites and.... bang... down it goes.

Just disable ULPS in RegEdit. Search for enableulps and change the 1's in the two values to 0's and restart. Should work
