Basically, soon as I try enter the CCC, mom.exe pops up for less than a second and disappears. Does this everytime I try load it up.

So far tried reinstalling .net 4.0 framework, reinstalling the CCC numerous times, including in safe mode. Computer is fully updated on W7 and it use to work without issue a few driver revisions ago.

Even going back on driver installs (obviously fully uninstalling the current ones), the CCC still refuses to work and after trawling the internet for answers and trying numerous different things, I still cannot get it to work.

Anyone had the same issue and managed to solve it?

Yeah tried using that as a last resort and still no budge on it. Just got one 5870. Gonna look at doing a full system restore shortly as I literally cannot think of anything else lol.

Have you tried multiple versions of catalyst? You could try a really old version, and see if that installs properly.

Although totally against the "correct procedure", sometimes just installing a driver straight over the top of a borked installation (ie, don't uninstall the older one), can fix things. It's worth a try as a last resort before using system restore.

Google search "catalyst manual install" as well.

Change the directory it installs to :-)

I'm sure a gent at work had this exact issue and he found a workaround which I think was as mentioned above. I will confirm this when I see him tomorrow though :-)

Will still find out for you though. I am sure it is something like installing to different location.

Got it slightly wrong.

The gentlemen said he got rid of 'Ati Technologies' folder (default install folder is 'Program Files/Ati Technologies') so it just went straight to 'Program Files/Ati'. Apparently it fixes some dot net assembly error.

Good luck :-)

what security software you running

None that interferes with the CCC as I uninstalled NOD32 just incase.

Also installing the entire CCC and/or drivers to another folder also didn't work. Default folder for me is C:/ATI not in the program files(86) folder.

Running W7 btw. I spent around 3 months trying to solve this issue lol. Thats why I ended up formatting :(

Had a similar problem quite a long time ago. Fixed it by downloading and running windows installer cleanup. Let it cleanup all references to ati and ccc and reinstall whatever catalyst version you like.

Had this issue a while back (10.3 to 10.4 I think)... CCC would just refuse to start. I solved my problem by choosing "Custom Installation" instead of the "Express". Installed fine, not had an issue of it since
