Hi all,
After a little advice and help if possible
I work in IT and in the third quarter of 2009 I went on the ICND1 and ICND2 Networking courses (as this is an area I want to move in to), but unfortunately failed the CCNA exam (personally I think it was a jump too far). I’ve not re-sat the exam as of yet, but am planning to sit the ICND1 exam first, to be a CCENT, then all going well then sit the ICND2 for my full CCNA qualification.
The issue I have is that to practice the labs and Switch/Router configuration I really need access to a mini-lab, but I can’t gain access to the work one so need to create something at home instead. A Router and a couple of Switches can be had for about £200 on the bay, but as I don’t have that cash floating around my only option is something virtual.
I’ve read up about Dynamips, which emulates the hardware I need but I can’t seem to find an easy guide as to how to set it all up. Other stumbling blocks include the fact that I need an IOS, but if I can find the help required to set the software up I’m sure I can get an IOS from work.
I am therefore asking if anyone has set themselves up a virtual CCNA lab, could I pinch your guide or have a little info around what I need to make sure I have for a successful virtual lab?
Cheers
