I have just bought a brand new iPad 1 and put it on charge for about 18 hours before using it.

When I click on settings-general-usage-battery usage, it displays two fields, Usage and Standby.

Under that it shows Usage times will be shown after iPad is fully charged.

Should these two fields show info or is it me doing something wrong.

Thanks.

Best thing to do is have the ipad on whilst still plugged in and then remove it from the power - I had the same issuette - it was as though the battery had lost a little power prior to being turned on and the software didn't recognise that the ipad had actually been fully charged - even though the battery still stated 100%.

I just spoke to AppleCare regarding this. It appears that I need to let the battery go flat before the figures will appear. According the diagnostic check I have only let the battery go as low as 46% before I charged it again. I will see if this works and report back.

Bring it back to the place you got it let them have a look might be a fault with it. I have the same one and it should not do that

Well I don't believe it. After several full charges followed by letting it go totally flat each time it has finally worked.

Thanks for all your help everyone.
