Prehaps a bit of a stupid question but for all those who use or have used CCleaner, when it cleans the registry for you it asks if you want too make a backup.

If you make a backup and save it how do you know when it's safe to delete the backup or don't you delete the backup do you just keep it saved.

TBH I've never made a backup before a registry clean using this app and have never had any bother.

Been using it for well over a year now, and normally run it at least once a week.

I always scroll down the list and check what it's deleting. More often than not it's old uninstalled programs and stuff which means I don't let the programs do back ups!

Fair enough. Most of what it deleted where too do with old programs but there where a couple of things that I didn't understand so I thought it was best to do a backup just incase.

The PC rebooted fine and not had any problems so I may just go ahead and delete the backup.

Cheers fellas.

Deleting backups kind of defeats the point of backups.

If i was unsure about which reg keys ccleaner was deleting, i would make a backup and keep the backup. Having said that, ive been using ccleaner for ages now and never done a backup (only because i know whats being deleted).
