anyone know what i need to untick on CCleaner,
as when i do a
Analyze / Cleanup / RunCleaner........

Then whenever I go to a forum / ebay etc, any website which holds my usernames and passwords on it has vanished and I have to input it all again, annoying and time comsuming.

I am sure it is to do with CCleaner, just not sure which tick box is the one i dont need ticked.

thank you and happy new year.

Un-tick cookies and saved form information, under the Applications tab if you use firefox and under the windows tab if you use IE

...or you can specify to save certain cookies - go to Options/Cookies. In the left panel you will see cookies currently on your system, just copy the cookies you want to keep over to the right panel via the -> button.

This is what I do for forums and various other log-ins, works a treat :)

I'd be careful with this though, as I ran ccleaner myself and it deleted some un-used .dll's which were actually in use. Had to re-install Nero and the like :(

Is that from using the 'Issues' scan? I never use that, I use TuneUp Utilities for registry cleaning and the like. I've used CCleaner for years and never had any problems with it, apart from continually installing new versions of it, but no real hassle I guess.

yeah, whats all that about? every two weeks it seems

another question to throw out - i never really had mind of the 'issues' feature in ccleaner. is it worth dumping tuneup utilites and just having the one program? i would only really use tuneup for the one fix maintenance (and program uninstall now and again i guess).

Use my tried and tested recommendations for ccleaner :)

Blimey. I've not used crap cleaner before, but it certainly does look intensive for such a small app. Will now install it.

when running the registry issues scan you do get the option to backup the changes to the registry you are about to make ;)

i can honestly say i've never had any issues with it, and i've used it in hundreds of machines (literally)

all i untick so it keeps is my firefox saved forms, and remote desktop information
