CCleaner

This question is purely out of curiosity but when you click anaylse and it says for example 30mb to be removed, you click Run Cleaner and it only removes about 10mb.

It's happened to me a few times now, sometimes it clears it all, sometimes it doesn't.

I'm not sure about that actually. Sometimes I have to scan and clear the registry cleaner repeatedly, along with doing the normal scan again and again.

Best thing is to let it do it's stuff on bootup and then ignore it unless you're uninstalling/reinstalling/installing things.

Maybe it can't remove all the objects due to them being in use - e.g. Firefox or IE being left open?

That's surely because removing some entries are in turn orphaning others.... thus the need for multiple scans.

Yer, could very well be although Firefox and IE definately aren't left open.

That's what the cookies section is for in the options.

The Reg Cleaner part is a "safe" cleaner as they put it.

It will not remove serious stuff that could mess up your PC mainly missing shortcuts and Active X etc etc.
