Well most of saturday has seen me doing my mod exams, i had already done 1-4 but i decided that i would love to get the gredes up a lot more.

So ive spent the day doing them and not long ago finished mod 4.

Im doing 5-7 tomo and im going to read 8th and do the exam.

Any of you wana attempt yur skills at mod 4? I found this the most difficult for some reason, i dont know why but here are some of questions i encountered:

1 How would a technician permanently change the IP address of an Ethernet card on a Red Hat Linux PC to 192.168.34.4?
use the command ifconfig eth0 192.168.34.4
use the command route add default IP 192.168.34.4 dev eth0
use the command ping 192.168.34.4
edit the IPADDRESS line in the file /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

10 In which layer of the TCP/IP model does ICMP operate?
Application
Transport
Internet
Network Access

12 What is a unique characteristic of the IP addressing scheme?
flat addressing
hierarchical addressing
internetwork addressing
single-octet addressing

18 A technician needs to log into a remote Linux PC to perform some maintenance. Which application layer protocol could be used?
Telnet
FTP
HTTP
SNMP

18 was slightly tricky for me, i choose SNMP though..

If you want to do the whole test to see how you would do then let me know, but there some of the questions it asks.. Its not a bad course, im learning so much from it, some new things, some obvious things that you know but not the name of etc.

All in all i love the course.

Anyone else here done it?

What could this lead to?

Let me know,

James.

It aint IPCONFIG, its the option 4 of that question.

Thats almost certainly right, my teacher is yet to mark the test yet.

I dont know if im going to go onto CCNA 1 yet, im not too keen, if i could get an apprenteship id more than likely do it. But I aint that keen on the course, i have until sep to decide anyway.

What could i do with this qual that im in the middle of anyway? Anything or nothing?

Im not up for uni as itll be too expensive and i prefer to work than study, im doing this course PT as it is..
