CCNA Lab kit advice

Im back at college now studying HND lvl networking and wish to be able to redo my coarse work at home and pratcise as well as advance onto CCNA qualifications.


Would this kit make a good starting lab?

1 x Cisco 2651XM 128D/16F (Router With Two Fast Ethernet Ports)

1 x Cisco 2651XM 128D/16F (Router With Two Fast Ethernet Ports)

1 x Cisco 2611XM 128D/32F (Router With Fast Ethernet Port)

1 x Cisco WS-C3550-24 PWR (Switch)

1 x Cisco WS-C3550-24 PWR (Switch)

1 x Cisco WS -C3550-48 (Switch)

1 x Cisco Lab Rack

1 x NM-4/AS Card

2 x WIC-1T Interface Cards

2 x DB60 Crossover Cables DCE DTE

1 x Console Cables

4 x CAT 5 Cables

6 x Power Cables


this is a kit im just listing its contents as not to be linking competitor sites

what do you networking guru's think?
 
May want to pick up another WIC-1T, but it'll all be fine for a CCNA.

Tbh, I got a CCNA kit of ebay (3x2611xm's and 2x2950's), but for CCENT at least I just ended up using PacketTracer. CCNA I'll maybe use them more, but even then reading about online people say PT is fine.

Always nice to have physical stuff though.
 
Ive heard that ill maybe just use packet tracer, and see would you recommend the

CCENT/CCNA ICND1 100-101 Official Cert Guide and the second one ?
 
Yea the ICND1 is a bit of beast. He does perhaps go into too much detail, but worth it in the long run if you're new to networking like I was.

Haven't started ICND2 myself, thankfully its 200 pages lighter haha!
