CCTV DVR password reset.

System is Swann DVR4-1300.

I'm not much for posting here but my after my grans death my dad wants to keep an eye on the house that is sitting empty after a back gate was forced open.

A relative had set up the system intitially but the password isn't known.

I've tried using a reset button on the main board and removed the battery but all it did was reset the date and time.

Newer swann systems can be reset by using the Mac address when on the same network but this didn't appear in any of the tools I used.

Any advice would be great, cheers.
 
Resetting the password
  1. Get to the login screen on the recorder.
  2. Click on Forgot Password.
  3. Enter the MAC address that you took and replace " - " with " : ". It should look like this - BC:51:FE:11:22:33.
  4. Click on OK once done.
  5. You then need to set your new password. Please follow your Wizard Quick Start Guide.
  • NOTE: If you lose or forget your password (thus locking yourself out of the DVR) you’ll need to contact Swann Technical Support. Our number is on the back of this booklet. However, we strongly advise that you choose a password you’ll remember! It’ll save grief later...
  • Just found the above if the reset does not work

Yeah I'd found that but this seems rather old and there isn't a forgot password option at the login screen unfortunately.

Might just have to call swann on Monday.
