Hi folks.
I am currently running Surveillance Station on my Synology 220+ nas to record two ONVIF wireless cameras.
Both cameras lose connection to the Synology Nas quite frequently. I don't think the wifi is a problem. One of the cameras is just 12 feet from my wifi router. The other camera is circa22 feet away.
Ok, it may be wifi issues but I'd like to identify the cause. I want to try some alternative NVR software to see what happens.

Are there any free/trial or low cost alternatives to Surveillance Station?

Many thanks

Had around 20 cameras connected to surveillance station, all Poe cabled. Perfect connection, never dropped.

Wireless should be used for mobile phones only.

Hikvision h265 cameras are very decent

Wow. 20 is a whole bunch of licenses. :). I'm not convinced wireless is the issue. It may be but I'm very reluctant to hardwire them. With my previous 218j nas there were no drop outs. Set up and configuration is more or less the same. Got some different packages running though and I'm wondering if there is a process which may be contributing. Especially firewall. Now I come to think about it not sure if firewall was enabled on the previous nas. I'll have a twiddle and see if I can eliminate software from the equation. Maybe try a better camera than my bog standard budget Iegeeks.

Wonder if there is any software I can use to monitor wifi connection between devices (cameras in this case) and router. That'd probably be a useful check.
