CCTV SWF Files

Need some help, please. I have recovered some CCTV footage from my hard drive that failed on me got most of the files to play fine but some of the files are .SWF files and i have not been able to play them

Have tried a few players, VLC MPC just nothing seems to work, have even tried encoding with handbrake and it doesn't recognize the files. Does anyone have any ideas?

Swf is Shockwave flash.

I downloaded shockwave but how do i play the files?

Drag it into a browser that supports the plugin.

Have tried that but just get the loading icon with a blank page

Was it an avtech system? Chances are they are not really swf files, can you replace the hard drive in the CCTV unit and copy the files back on to the drive? They will probably only play with the units own internal playback software.

Wish i could, im not sure what happened with the footage but it disappeared from the hard drive and i had to use a recovery programme to get back the data i could. Some strage video files it recovered .PPM .ARJ and .FLC have managed to play them fine just these damm swf files wont play lol
