For a spring project I shall be installing a small night vision camera into a bird box that was used last year for giving birth to chicks.

I have sourced a suitable camera but now need to hook it up to a PC. The camera has the usual Red, White and Yellow Composite connections.

1) How can I best hook this into my PC.
2) What software can I then use to rip to the hard drive the footage
3) How could I access / stream this info to the web?

Answers on a postcard please!

There's widley available kits to do this - my dad uses them from his CCTV where he works. You can get wireless cameras then plug the reciever into a DVI card that sits in a PCI slot in the PC, and capture software comes with it too. Look on the 'bay - not very expensive at all.

edit: you can hook it up to the internet too so you can login and view it from a remote location.

Ta Dr. Sarf.

As I say I've already go the camera and it's rigged up so I can see it on the TV so I just need to find a capture card for my pc.

Will take a look on ebay, thanks bud

Cheers knockonwood.

Will grab a dvr card off ebay as these seem to do what I need.

Will create a new thread in GD when it arrives and the build commences!

Here is the camera I am using, shown with a 1p coin

nice , little spy cam how much was it? i have two night vision ones one is 50 mtrs the over is 25 mtr . the dvr cards are ok as you can always add more cameras if needs be plus if you get the right software it will hardly use any hd space

Came in from Hong Kong - A quick search on the bay should be able to find it, was less than £10 and then I also bought a 10metre cable for it so about £15 in total
