CD-Authoring: is this possible?

I want to create a CD which will have 3 audio tracks and one video track (VCD or SVCD). Is this even possible? The burning software I use is Nero 6.6 - can it do it, and what option do I select?

The video file is under 20' long so I'm sure there'll be room both for it and the 3 audio tracks on it (right?). Will DVD to SVCD be a massive drop in quality? I'll be ripping it off a home-made DVD myself using one of the DVD to (S)VCD software reccomended in the freeware sticky above - although if anyone has a suggestion as per which of the lot is the fastest and easiest to use, or if there's a better one not mentioned in the sticky, please tell me as I don't have time to download and try them all out until I figure out which I prefer!

in nero 7, I think you need mixed mode, although it could be the cd extra tab.

Basically as I understand it you would add your audio tracks and then add the video track. The machine would then select the relevant part(s)

You're making a vcd in the 21st century? :confused:

Svcds only support 2 audio tracks not 3 afaik, and the max resolution is 480x576 with a bitrate of 2.6Mb/s.

So if you don't mind having 2/3 of the resolution and half the bitrate of a normal dvd and tiny capacity, I suppose it's ok.

The DVD I'm ripping from is pretty low quality, I doubt I'll lose all that much!

Well I don't know why you are burning onto cd's, but in any case, dvds are much faster than cds are, and don't cost anymore than cd's, I would reccomend using them for anything you burn.

You might be able to do it if you use multiple sessions, I've never tried it though.

Because I want people to be able to stick the disc onto an audio CD player and still be able to hear the music tracks, and then stick it into their DVD player to see the video. DVD-players can play CD tracks but last I heard CD-players couldn't play DVDs. Thanks for the tips though, I'll give them a go tomorrow, worst thing that can happen is I burn a coaster or two!
