CD Burning software

Guys, is there anything out there that will do everything Nero does, but is not a bloated piece of tripe?

Preferably free, but happy to pay for the right software.

I tried ashampoo, but every time I tried to burn a dvd it got to writing data then stopped for some unknown reason. :rolleyes:

I expect many people will recommend ImgBurn, which is very effective, but if you want something with a more conventional "Nero-like" layout, check out CDBurnerXP or DeepBurner.

There is now a free and lite version of Nero which could be worth a go. Otherwise CDBurnerXP or DeepBurner are good bets. Haven't used InfraRecorder for a while but that's a good 'un too.

Thanks a lot guys. With regards to ashampoo, as I mentioned before, for some reason I cannot get it to burn a dvd. It will copy it to hard disk, but won't transfer it to dvd. No idea why

It works well with me, writing DVD Video Files (vobs etc) to blank DVDRs...I'm sure you'll find something that works for you from those mentioned.

Or if you feel like spending a £s, Prassi ONES is very good.

Hmmm, maybe I should try it again. Out of interest, what version were you using? The 2009 version just wouldn't play ball for me.

I had the same problem...until I updated the firmware for my drive.

If you're still having problems, maybe that would be worth a shot
