Cd drive help

Hi,

I have a friend that needs a new cd/dvd burner for her dell dimention 2400 computer thats about 5 years old. i have to go to the shop to purchace one on the way home

As im not there to see does any of you guys know if i need a sata replacement or will it be ide?
