Hi,

Today we changed the head-unit on my Dads Jaguar XJS.
It was an old stock Jaguard head-unit, on the sticker on the back it says Alpine.
But the CD player in the boot has a different plug to what the new Pioneer has. The pioneer has a plug with about 10 holes in rows. The Jag radio has about 6 in a circle.

Sorry for the vague description but is there anywhere we can get a converter?

I cant seem to find anything but Ill keep looking.

Thanks

No thats not it :) We made our own for that lol. Thanks though :)

Its a round plug, dont know what to call it though, so I dont know what to search for. Any help is appreciate :)

There is no standard interface for connecting a cd changer to a head unit. The different ice manufacturers just make their own, so you generally have to match the brands up. As your old jaguar head unit was made by alpine, the cd change probably is too, and as such, you probably won’t get it working with a Pioneer head unit.

Might be worth having a google and seeing if anyone does make an adapter, but its doubtful. Although quite why people still use cd changes even after upgrading their audio is beyond me, what with the price of mp3 headunits being about £60.

You can get adapters to convert between brands, such as you can get factory fitted units / VAG / GM working with alpine / Pioneer / Kenwood units.

Can't get my VAG CD changer to work with anything except the stock HU :(
