CD-RW format question?

My sister has a Mac Laptop she had for maybe a month (new not used) & we use PCs so we know nothing about Macs. We have a CD-RW we formated with a PC, I don't think it can read it which seems odd to me. A friend who has a Mac, told her a CD-RW formated in a PC can't get formated in a Mac. It doesn't sound right to me, but since none of us use a Mac or ever did I am not sure.

you probably have to wipe it first then change formats, anyway its most likely the other way around as mac can read MS-DOS files but i dont think PC can read mac info..

Oh sorry I meant the Mac can't read the CD-RW formated by the PC, & a friend with a Mac told her if a PC formated it a Mac can't. That sounds wrong to me.

yea what i was speculating on was that i believe mac can read both formats, its windows that will have a problem with a mac made disc

So, the CD-RW should work, hmmm. Can she write to it?
