CD sound cable bundled with ASUS P5W DH?

I'm trying to find the connector lead for DVD/CD sound to Mobo. Should the lead have been in the mobo box or the DVD box? I can't find it anywhere!

It's an entirely new build & room looks like bomb went off so it may in fact be tucked away somewhere

Don;t think you need one if your running XP, not 100% sure though.

No such lead is included in the motherboard.

Well i'm pretty sure it wasn't in the DVD box so I guess I don't need it?

Haven't had chance to test sound as no OS installed yet (new build)

Can anyone confirm this?

You don't need one. Audio between the optical drive and the motherboard/soundcard has been digital for...ages.

Got a feeling it only applies when playing CDs anyway.

You dont need one but in any case i now have an Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS Edition sound card in mine.

I've an E-mu 0404 waiting to go in. Will be connected to my Sony sound system. Want to get XP going first though.

Just found out p180 has no mobo speaker

Would have been useful to know at 2.00am last night whilst tearing hair out trying to figure out where the hell it was hidden :mad:
