CDKeys question. Macs...

Morning all,

Just trying to clear something up. I'll speak to CDKeys customer support if needed but after unsuccessfully googling, i thought it would be good to ask here.

So, got a Mac. Looking to purchase a key to redeem via Steam of Mafia 3. However, on the cdkeys website it doesn't mention anything about Mac/OSX. But, when looking at say, Diablo III, it mentions "PC/Mac"

Now, I feel a bit dumb asking this. But would a key for Mafia 3 still work? As a license is a license and the software is provided by steam? Or is it more granular and the provided key would only be redeemable via Steam on the PC instead? Any ideas?

I would assume the key will work as it's on Steam regardless of OS.

Could be wrong as I've never owned a Mac, but would seem silly otherwise.
 
It's a case of whether the game supports Mac OS rather than the key, AFAIK. I.e. if it's a Steam key, and the game on Steam is Mac OS compatible, it'll work.
 
Thanks :) - FWIW both of those games are Mac compatible. And my thinking of what it "must" be is along the lines of what you said.

I might just give it a go, worst comes to it, I can load it on my work laptop which is windows :p
 
If you want I have Mafia 3 spare from a humble monthly.

you can have it if you want to try, then worst case if it doesn't work you are not out of pocket :)

The DLC's for Mafia III are underappreciated - 2 of them were excellent (and the other good)- really good stories with really well difficulty balanced gunfights.
 
Once you own a Steam game it's yours to install on as many machines as you (and you personally :P ) desire. If those machines have different OSs that's no problem assuming the game is compatible. :)
