Having issues with my Raspberry Pi 3 lately (running kodi)
The CEC for controlling with the TV remote works only 1/10 times I turn on the Pi.
Sometimes I have to unplug and replug the Pi multiple times before the CEC will start working. It says CEC is connected in bottom right to my TV when It starts but doesn't do anything most the time. I've tried messing around with multiple different settings relating the HDMI settings (in openelec rpi config) and the CEC Adapter settings and nothing makes it any better. Even tried different HDMI cables and switching the port, even reseting everything to default on the TV and the Pi and still nothing. It was working fine a few months ago but lately its being very hit and miss.

My TV is a Panasonic TX-P42ST60B

Any ideas?

Have you tried LibreELEC instead of Openelec, I found it's CEC implementation so much better. Openelec is pretty much dead now and most of the active brains trust who actually wanted to move forward with the original project are working on LibreELEC.

Yeh I checked out LibreELEC, I'm just so used to OpenElec :/
Is there any benefit apart from the CEC apparently being better? I literally only use it as a media player (no streams), physical drive. On 16.1 atm.

LibreELEC is under active development and will integrate Kodi 17, OpenElec is a dead duck and will become increasingly flaky over time unless a certain dev pulls his finger out of his posterior :)
