Ceiling Fan

Wow I wish I had never sold mine if that is what they cost now! It is a brilliant ceiling fan. I had one for a number of years and sold it due to moving house and not being able to put it up in the new place. Now that I am buying I will most certainly be installing another in my new property!

Just to hijack this thread slightly. We've always wanted a ceiling fan but have never been able to find one we like with a built in light. Our new house has spotlights in the bedroom which opens up our choices hugely.

The bedroom is below a bathroom though. Does anyone know of any special precautions we need to take when installing it?

Hi,

Looking to get a ceiling fan for the bedroom, been looking on Amazon and found one by Westinghouse https://www.amazon.co.uk/Westinghouse-Bendan-Ceiling-Fan-Chrome/dp/B00GZ9PC44/

Seems to have good reviews for the price.

Should I be looking at another make? model?

The style of the one I linked is the sort of style we want for the room.

Thanks

Kimbie

We've had that one albeit dark wood finish and it's happily been whiring away for four years now with now issues, bulbs blow occasionally but that's it. Nice and quiet with big blades moving lots of air :)

I have a smaller Westinghouse one in my PC room. Makes a big difference :D

Only problem is they do hum. I don't think I could sleep with one on in the bedroom.

Mine didn't hum at all. The only noise from it was the sound of the blades through the air. Certainly slept many a night wuite hapikyh with it on full speed .

We put one up in our bedroom and it's been great, 3 x lights and 5 blades, the hum at the lowest level is kind of like white noise .... Perfect at highest speed for moving air on the warm summer nights!!

Couldn't go back to a standing fan now ....

Our house faces a main road so having the windows open at night is a no-go due to lorries passing...wouldn't be without the ceiling fan in the recent weather, life saver.

Does look pretty good. Is it OK just using the existing light fitting supply as I may end up having one on a dimmer but probably not dimming and running the fan at the same time. Would be in a bedroom too.
