Celeron 326 - Maximum voltage on air

How good is your CPU cooler? Chances are it will get hot first, around 80C is what I'm confortable under full load. (Yeah I know)

Currently running it at 1.5v. Full load temps are around 46c at 4.1ghz. Was thinking of edging it toward 1.6v, but only seen it done on water.

Stock voltage is 1.4 isn't it? I would say 1.6 max on good air cooling.

Edit: Just seen you have a sonic tower and your temps ar eok, try 1.55 first.

@ Rokusho, 80c would kill a Athlon 64 if it wasn't throttling or turning off to protect itself.

Stock voltage is 1.38v I think. How would I know when I've reached the absolute maximum the processor can take. Is it heat related (just keeps an eye on full load temps), will it reboot, or when smoke comes out of it ?

Heat will limit you first, your CPU will start to throttle (I think there's an app called throttlewatch or something you can use to keep an eye out for this).

OK So far

1.39v 133fsb = 2.53Ghz (Stock) 40c full load

1.58v 215fsb = 4.09Ghz 52c full load

Cant get past 1.58v or 215fsb and I dont tink temps are a problem.

Any suggestions

1.59v 217fsb = 4.13Ghz 53c full load

Its like hitting a brick wall. PC just keeps rebooting.

The memory is running at 870 5-5-5-15 at 2.2v. I wonder if this has anything to do with it. There is also a CPUvid voltage of 1.37v. What is this for ?
