I have an old(ish) SFF board i plan on making a case for, and using as a simple download box

i have everything bar the HDDs and CPU, and am wondering about the Celeron D

At stock it had a 533fsb P4 in there, will the celeron D work ? or does it need a bios update (which i doubt i'll find)

EDIT - its a 845 chipset with onboard gfx

Thanks in advance for any ideas :)

What is the motherboard? The best way to be sure is to check the motherboard manufacturers website. I don't know if the 915 chipset automatically supports Celeron Ds but I suspect you probably would need a bios flash for it.

wouldnt get a celeron ever, better to get a better p4 instead, celeron is even worse as amd's semprons i've had one and got rid of it the same day, slow as hell, even when overclocked to 5 ghz

About support i suppose it supports any 533 mhz fsb, socket 478 cpu after bios update
