Celeron NUC - HD audio passthrough?

Hi All

Quick question; I'm in the market for an Intel NUC to be used with XBMC and preferably Windows.

Pretty much my only requirement is HD audio passthrough. I had a Raspberry Pi up until recently and while it fit my needs with a few tweaks, it just wasn't capable of passing the HD audio soundtrack of my ripped BD's.

I know the Celeron (DN2820FYKH) NUC didn't originally support HD audio passthrough in Windows (It did in Linux) but I've read that its now possible with either a driver or update or similar? Can anyone confirm this before I pull the trigger one?

That model was apparently refreshed to the 2830 and i remember people ordering the 2820 then the 2830 was what was delivered so probably best to do some research on wherever you buy it from to find out what you'll get.

My gen 5 i3 NUC passes audio to my amp via HDMI, I'm running Openelec on it.

Why windows? If it just for kodi (xbmc) then use openelec (linux). No idea if the celery supports it, they also used to have a 24p bug.

My N2820 NUC passes through all audio via HDMI ok.

I also have the n2820 running Windows 7 and kodi. The latest graphic card drivers allow dts-hd etc.
