I know the answer is probably yes but i just want to run it by you guys first.
Will an E6320 dual core at 1.86 out perform a Celeron D 346 at 3.06? and will it be a big improvement? from what i've read the Celeron has an FSB of 533 and the Core 2 Duo has 1066 so I'm hoping to see an increased load time.

I know there are much better Core 2 duos out there but it just so happens one of these has come my way very cheaply and i thought id surprise my girlfriend with a new CPU if its worth it.

well the full story is about a year ago I built her a new rig but was on a tight budget and had to salvage the celeron from her old dell, i always new the celerons were a bit rubbish but thought well 3GHz will be alright :rolleyes: that was a mistake. But one of the things I made sure was the mobo could take a better cpu in the future.
she just bought vista and from using my dual core AMD to that is painful.
