Is this engine ODB II? thinking of an ST205 as my next car and want to fit a carpc

reason I ask is that you can get pointless software to display things off ODBII interfaces

IIRC ODBII is usually used in American cars.

I think you are talking about OBD 2 (On board diagnostics). VAG cars are fitted with it.

I'd be very suprised if the 3S-GTE is OBD 2 compatible, it's a reasonably old engine.

I maybe very wrong though!

It became a requirement on cars sold in the US after 96 and cars sold in Europe after 2001. Not all cars sold in the states that were OBD2 in 96 were sold here as OBD2 even though it may have been the same make and model.

The 3S-GTE was first made in 89 I believe.

If it is ODB II then it will have a connector inside the cabin within easy reach of the driver.

HAving said that, if its ODB I (like mine) then the connector is usually in the engine bay, you just need the right interface and software.

My '93 MR2T doesn't have OBD2, the diagnostics connector is in the engine compartment.
