Hi,

This is probably a daft question but I'm prepared to be laughed at.

I require some paint for a Celica GT4 (94 import) but on all the document we have it just says silver. I would like to know the exact code and colour for the paint as there are bound to be plenty of varieties of silver.
Appently this infomation in on the 'door jam' but all I see is a sticker in Japanese - which is not very helpful to me.

Or would I need to visit my local Toyata dealer.

Your help will be much appreciated.

Thank you.

I'd take a stab at "Alpine Silver Metallic" (Paint code 199).

Is there anyway to check this?? Don't particually want a two tone celica :p

EDIT:- Ok, now I feel stupid. Found the colour code under the bonnet :o.
You were indeed correct, the code is 199. Can give yourself a pat on the back :) .

Thanks.

Remember when ordering paint by code there is nearly always 2 or more shade variations of the colour. either take the car and polish a bit up to match with or take a small painted part of the car with you, something like the fuel filler flap. Match the shade outside during daylight as artificial light can make it seem different.

I guess I'll have to take a bit of the car with me as I cannot drive the car legally.

May I ask why the have different shades, as surely one shade would suffice so why make two?? Seems bizzar to me.

Thank you for the advice.
