Had a replacement computer from Alienware couple of weeks ago and its a major step up from my previous computers i7 3820 (see sig)

Well I'm thinking i could get about £550 if sold (maybe)

would it then be worth getting the lower down 4820 Ivy-E (if that's what its called) ?

as i really do not use the power of my 3970x its just to much for me , i already got a 690 and thinking of selling that too and getting a single 780 .

i will be getting a new monitor over the next couple of weeks , Asus 1440p 27" screen so i think it wont be to much a step down and actually gaining a few quid in the process.

Only reason to sell the CPU now so it don't decrease in price now , as when the Ivy-E versions come out then its value will drop .

I think what i sell the CPU for and GPU that Extra Cash can go towards my New monitor .

how much is my cpu worth that's the question being OEM dell , i got a 2 year warranty with the system , so i suppose selling it and downgrading would probably void my warranty , but only if something else went wrong with the motherboard as that the only reason there engineers come out , all parts like graphics and hard drives they send by courier. so dell wouldn't know .

I've also got my factory overclock of 4,1ghz up to 4.4ghz and could go higher, but don't want to chance it being a dell board .
