Evening All,

Has anyone here went from Economy 7 to a Full Gas heating system with combi boiler, or from no heating at all.

I know price can vary depending Quality/size/make of boiler. However if your willing to share some info on how much it could you to give me rough idea on pricing.

Boiler KW / Number of single or double radiators used etc.

Just in the process of doing something similar, have an E7 meter in the house but a prepayment meter outside on a single tariff. Strange setup but house had this already when I bought it.

House is 3 bed semi with 6 electric panel radiators, Costa me on average £40 a week but when freezing which it can be at the moment -6 it can cost me £10 a day with a 19p kw tariff (due to prepayment meter and post code).

Gas connection to the house is £770. 6 double radiators + 2 towel radiators with TRVs and a 35kw Bosch boiler with 10 years warranty installed in the loft, old immersion and water tank removed and new copper pipework put in is £5300. I can update thread with running costs once in. Don't really use E7 meter so understand it will be slightly different to yours.

Just having a new boiler installed now. Worcester Bosch 35kw combo replacing a 30kw Gloworm. Just that part is £3200 fitted. I am also having 7 radiators changed which is another £700 for cheapish ones as these are original single skin 70’s ones.

All in I am around the £4K mark without any major pipe runs so depending on size add another few days for pipe work etc.

All of the Above £4350

No Individual price breakdowns, im aware prices can vary drastically based on tradesman rates in areas. But based on the above is seems extremely reasonable. Id estimate about £2000-2200 in just materials alone

THat price does not include cost of mains supply from street to the house, but locally sometimes they offer a free connection to the mains for new customer if within 30m which the property is .

Seems like a great deal. Massive peace of mind getting it done, too. I just paid 2k for a straight forward boiler replacement.

I guess if they are running copper underfloor be prepared for lots of snagging jobs to tidy up? Decide now if you want pipes chasing in the wall! I paid extra for this in my bathroom. Looks a lot better and, ya know, in for a penny, in for a pound.

Are you sure on the Ideal boiler? I annoy myself that I dislike the brand (I am not going to reference my good experience as sods law it'll pack in - I hope I haven't double jynxed myself) but tend to go for Vaillant. 10 year warranty though, so meh.

I went from storage heaters to combi central heating at my old two bed semi around 18 years ago. Gas connection cost about £400 and the boiler and rads £2500. Reckon you'd be looking at more like £5000 these days though.
