Centre speaker, match it to the surrounds or use something different?

I finally putting up the surround speakers my wife bought me when we were courting (they've been in the box for 12 years!), but i've got a choice of two centre speakers.

Running it from my 1998 vintage Technics SA-AX710 which has a nice "6 channel input" mode where i can run the outputs from my pc into the amp and get a full 5.1 sound (once i find the psu for my Gale Sub 5, who uses a 15v supply, really?)

Do i stick with the centre from the set (Pioneer S-Sp40, 8 Ohm, 80W max, single driver) or use my old centre (Gale Centre 10, 6 Ohm, 15-80W, two cones and a tweeter)?

Will the difference in impedance be a problem? I know the Gale is going to have a better range but will it be "too clear" compared to the rest of the Pioneer kit (all single driver)?

It's not going to be a cinema experience but it will be better than the nothing i have now.

Thanks

Ideally all three fronts should match (THX reference setups use the exact same speakers for the front 3 IIRC).

Try them both and see. The impedance won't be too much of a problem unless you're planning very high listening volumes.
