Hi all

I am trying to use the AUX centre output ONLY to output to speakers however I get no audio output even though the software is showing that it is outputting.
Surely I don't have to use all 3 centre side and rear outputs to get this to work?

Thanks

Not sure what you are trying to do; but what have you got the output set to in the U7 options?

Setting output as 5.1 or 7.1 will output audio to the centre channel. If you want audio only from the centre speaker, and have other speakers connected to the other channels, then you could mute or lower the volume on the other channels (assuming the U7 control panel has options to allow that); otherwise, you'll probably have to disconnect any speakers from all other channels.

Essentially is it possible to use the centre 3.5mm port as front instead of the RCA?

I am using it to feed into a sound board using 3.5mm to 1/4 jack however the headphone out isn't giving very good audio quality for some reason - obviously it outputs for headphones not speakers so that must be why

No, as there are no options to reconfigure what ports output which channel. This applies to all sound cards. Only onboard audio ports can be reconfigured to output a different channel. Why Creative and Asus have never bothered implementing this, I don't know.

Headphone out is connected to the headphone amp, so isn't just line out like the others are. That may be something to do with it.

Apparently you can click the volume dial to switch between speaker and headphone configuration, which I imagine would bypass the headphone amp. Have you tried that?

Oh well
Thanks for the help guys
I ended up just using an aux from headphone to 2x 1/4 jack into the board
Got a crappy cable from maplins which was RCA to single 1/4 jack but the audio was terrible and seemed to be cutting bass off?

I tried rca to 1/4 jack and also rca to 3.5mm with an adaptor and it was cutting the audio massively for some reason and was time limited so had no other choice really
