Is there a way to force Intel 3945 (eg Centrino) cards to use Cisco Extensions while still using the Windows Zero Configuration service as I can't see any options in device manager for Intel WICs.

If not is there a way to configure a Wireless profile in Intel ProSet to use Windows login information as the username/password for WPA2-Enterprise/AES-CCMP/PEAP authentication instead of storing it in the profile?

Cheers

You need to make sure you've got all the optional features of PROset installed and in particular the Pre-Logon Connect and Administrator options. I don't know of a way to keep using the WZC service while using the Cisco extension options in PROset.

However, I have had success creating a profile using the Administrator tool to enable using the Windows logon username & password to authenticate using MS-CHAP v2 and PEAP. When you create a profile using the Administrator utility it adds the option to 'Use Windows Logon' under authentication options, and you can then also enable the Cisco extensions you require. You need to set the 'Roaming Identity' to '%DOMAIN%\%USERNAME%' (w/o quotes) and the profile should be created as a pre-logon profile.

The upside of all this is that once you've created the profile on one computer it saves it as a .EXE file which you can very easily deploy to other computers equipped with Intel Wifi cards and PROset.
