Certain USB's not working

After buying a dead ASUS Sabertooth Z77 with no returns or RMA, I bought a Gigabyte Z77X-UD4H and after installing it. It works. HOWEVER, only 2 usb ports work.
Is there something I need to do to get them working? Plugging in a USB stick doesnt do anything but when going into the BIOS, a drive is detected. Plugging in a mouse or keyboard doesnt do anything either.

Please tell me theres something I need to set or else Ive wasted another board and money!

Forgot to check if the board uses third party USB's. Ill report back on my findings.

I got similair with the board in sig when the system was first built, had to download the 3rd party drivers (eg as media usb) from the asus website.

Ah! Knew it, checked and it does use third party USB controllers. Downloaded them and USBs are working!
