I was wondering if anyone has qualified for this or knows a little more about it?

I might have to take this qualification if I am successful in a job application and would like to know if there is any free material out there on it?

Thanks!

I've looked at this... it's OK but nothing special. I'd say it's not really that recognised in industry - probably about as much as the CompTIA Security cert, but not as much as the CISSP.

I've not seen many resources available online... although those brain dump sites might have practice exams. Not sure if they're free though.

If, like my employer, your's gives you access to a site such as Books 24/7 or Safari, then there are a couple of exam guides available which might be of use (although you don't get access to the stuff on the accompanying CDs).

Yeah I have access to books 24/7 Reading through one at the moment. I am not too worried about it being recognised. I would have to do it for the role and wondering how hard it was.

Well I got the job so will be taking the course. Would the CompTIA Security+ be something for the future after I have passed this course?

I am really looking forward to doing this job as they pay for all training, and I get to pick and choose what I would like to do as long as its IT related. Nice!!!

Fair enough... admittedly I only tend to deal with other security bods in the financial industry, so it may just be that in our sector the CEH isn't given that much regard.

Completely agree with you on avoiding the "cheat sheet".

Congrats on getting the job. :) When do you start?

I think the Security+ would be a good cert to have in addition to the other. It's not as time-consuming to get as some of the others, and it's something you can study for easily in your own time. You can never have too many certs ;)

Ive moved from a different position within my company so they are discussing releasing me, but looks like four weeks :(

I dont think the cheat sheet would help me as I would need to understand the work completely. Will definately check out the security+ once i get the first one under my belt.
