CF 4870 weird overclocking problem

My max stable overclock with 8.6 hotfix drivers was 810/1150 (decent OC). I then updated to the 8.7 drivers with a max over clock of 800/1100. Fair enough I thought, I'll go back to 8.6. But I still cant get my 810/1150 to run stable anymore......Any Ideas?

Yes I firstly used, 8.7 installer again to uninstall drivers and CCC, I then removed and uninstalled GPU drivers from Device manager and deleted any folders in the C drive

This is odd indeed. My overclocking ability similarly reduced when I went to 8.7. 8.7 is also considerably less stable than 8.6 + hotfix for me, but I haven't gamed much lately so just thought I'd grin and bear it out until 8.8.

It hasn't retained any of your previous profiles has it?

I also found the 8.7s wont overlock as well as the 8.6's.

You must have a price of 8.7 in there somewhere,

i would do what you have done before but then
Reboot in safe mode, use driver cleaner
Reboot in safe mode, use driver sweeper.

I had never needed to run those in safe mode until i tried those buggy 8.8s, nothing would fix my pc except the above, I though i was going to need a OS reinstall.
