Hey all,

Nice simple question

I currently have two 5770's running in Crossfire what single card would I need to go for to get an upgrade? (Assume that im not cpu limited)

I've checked the bench marks on anandtech but it doesnt have CF 5770's :-(

Many thanks in advance!!

What cpu do you have?

Well from a 5770 crossfire id say a 580

Well CF5770 were roughly equal to a 5870 so to better that you are talking at least 6950\570 and up to be a worthwhile upgrade.:)

I defo wouldnt say the 6950/70 or 570 is a worth while upgrade over a 5870/5770 crossfire. if you were to go for that it would depend on how much extra your spending once you sell your 5770's.

also op what cpu do you have? and whats it clocked to?

Many thanks for the replies so far.

I knew they were good, but didnt realise they rated 'that' high!

Currently my cpu is an E8600 @ 4.2 but this is in preparation for a planned upgrade to an i5 2500k. Am I right in thinking that this new CPU wouldnt bottleneck CF5770?

As far as budget is concerned - I am estimating that I might be able to sell each card for about 60 each and wouldnt mind putting in another 150 - So about the 200-270 would be the limit - Question is I guess... Would a 570 / 6950 be enough of an performance upgrade (I.e worth £150) or would that money be better spend else where

card wise thats not much of an upgrade at all. pretty much not far off a 570 or 6950. id maybe save up a little more or stick with what you have.
