Ch 4 F1 team

oops

Former Grand Prix driver Alex Zanardi has denied ever agreeing to a role in Channel 4's Formula 1 coverage, just days after he was announced as part of its team.

C4 held a media event in London on Tuesday where it named a 12-strong team of presenters and expert analysts, including former grand prix drivers Mark Webber, Alain Prost and Karun Chandhok.

It then revealed, prior to playing a video edit of Zanardi's preparations for the Paralympics, that the Italian would be joining it at selected events in 2016.

However, Zanardi has rubbished suggestions that he is to work with C4, claiming he never accepted the role.

In a tweet he posted on Sunday, linking to a C4 announcement of its team, Zanardi wrote: "Sorry guys, no hard feelings but I've never agreed to be part of this team and I won't be in it. That's all."

It is unclear why C4 chose to announce Zanardi as part of its team if he had not agreed, but the channel was unavailable for comment on Sunday.

Murray Walker - He was ALWAYS useless, now more so...if possible. No, NO NO NO.....NINE
Nic Hamilton - "Tell us what Lewis is thinking". Pointless insight for the tabloids
Ben Edwards - No problem
Mark Webber - No problem
Susie Wolff - Well she is experienced, but not very good
David Coulthard - No problem....but bit boring and still corporate
Steve Jones - Not bothered
Karun Chandhok - Well at least he had a go and can talk a bit
Lee McKenzie - No problem, earned her stripes, drivers like her, knows he stuff
Eddie Jordan - Murray take him with you
Bruno Senna - The **** Senna
Alain Prost - One of the greats, worthy but no idea how he communicates

I actually like Ben Edwards commentating. Could be far far worse, could have been Jonathan Legard.
I think Nic is there for 2 purposes.
1. Able to get closer interviews with Lewis etc.
2. Channel4 focusing on disabilities, as they are very proud broadcasters of paralympics, 2016 Year of Disability as well.
