Hi all,

Can anyone recommend and good aerosol chain lube?
Any preference between gel or liquid types?
Also is tyre glue any good as an additive. Like you put inside your tyre before you get a puncture to plug it?

I have '10 GSX650F, thanks.

I'm using some PTFE spray stuff I got with my push bike, seems to work well with no flicking of oil

Put tyre stuff in push bikes before, never worked really and could ruin the tyre if you get a puncture and it can be mended

Wurth non flick spray is supposed to be rather good.

I've used the anti puncture stuff before, but never really had a problem (that I knew about). it wouldn't have helped with the last problem I had though (6" screw through the bottom and out the sidewall).

As said above some places won't fix a tyre with it in, it can get very messy.

I use the Wurth dry stuff too on one of my bikes, in fact I find it preferable to the scott oiler I have on the other. Each time I park up in the garage I spray a little on a bit of the chain, its no effort and keeps it in good condition with zero fling.

As for punctures I'd recommend you buy a little plug/repair kit with the mini air canisters. They fit under your seat easy and don't make a massive mess, plus I'd have much more confidence in the repair over the slime stuff.

I had a Scottoiler on the R1 for a couple of thousand miles, but it made the wheel really dirty, so I opted to remove it and go back to the old way of lubing the chain manually.

Now I use Holts chain lube – it’s a gel I guess, looks a lot like Gillette before you agitate it (when it’s the green goo), it seems to cling on pretty well and the flick off isn’t too bad.

No idea on the tyre question though – sorry.
